Blue Archive Pull Strategy โ 12 Rules for Smarter Pulling
After hundreds of banners, the players who stay happy are the ones with a system. These 12 rules turn Blue Archive pulling from impulse into a process โ built around the real pity numbers.
Rule 1: Know your pity before you pull
Your pity counter and 50/50 status decide everything. Check them before opening the banner โ the Blue Archive Pity Calculator tells you your exact odds at any counter value, including the no 50/50 (200-pull spark) scenario.
Rule 2: Budget {hard * 2} pulls or don't start
The worst case in Blue Archive is 200 pulls to hit your first 5โ , then 200 more if you lose the no 50/50 (200-pull spark). If you can't afford {hard * 2} pulls, statistically you should skip. The Pull Budget Planner guide breaks down the exact costs.
Rule 3: Use soft pity, don't fight it
Most 5โ drop between pull 1 and 200. If you're at or higher and the banner is ending, those final pulls are your best odds of the whole banner โ the Banner Countdown tells you how much time you have left.
Rule 4: Track your guarantee
Lost the 50/50? Your next 5โ is guaranteed featured โ and it carries over to the next banner. Never let that guarantee go to waste on a character you don't want.
Rule 5: Plan income, not luck
A consistent F2P player earns enough Pyroxene for roughly one hard pity every 2 months. The Income Calculator shows your exact monthly income so you know when your next "go" banner can be.
Rule 6: Wait 24 hours before pulling
New banners tempt hard. Wait a day: read the kit, check the reviews, confirm the character actually fits your roster. The banner runs for weeks โ one day of patience costs nothing.
Rule 7: Never pull for 4โ s
4โ characters and weapons come naturally over time. Chasing a specific 4โ on an unwanted 5โ banner is the fastest way to waste Pyroxene.
Rule 8: The weapon banner is a trap (usually)
200 pulls for a 75/25 chance isn't a good deal for most players โ see the Blue Archive Weapon Banner guide for the full math. Only pull if you can reach the guarantee.
Rule 9: Set a hard stop and honor it
Pick your pull cap before the banner drops. When you hit it, you stop โ no "just 10 more". The Pull Planner helps you set that number with real math.
Rule 10: Reruns are guaranteed, Pyroxene is not
Every character will rerun eventually. If the budget doesn't fit this banner, the rerun will come โ skipping is a strategy, not a loss.
Rule 11: Anniversary and big patches change the math
Double rewards, free pulls and bonus packs mean your income spikes 2-3 times a year. Save for those windows โ the Banner History page shows the pattern of past banners.
Rule 12: Have fun with the simulator
Want to pull without spending? The Blue Archive Pull Simulator runs the real rate model โ 10-pulls, soft pity, the works. Get the rush, keep your Pyroxene.
